Meet Marilyn Levinson

Friday, March 26, 2010

I am delighted to be part of this year's Vineyard Signing for Literacy. As a writer and former teacher, I strongly believe everyone must be able to read and write in order to get along in our hectic, complex world.

I will be selling copies of two of my novels for children:

RUFUS AND MAGIC RUN AMOK -- an International Reading Association-Children's Book Council Children's Choice -- is about a fourth grader who discovers he has magical powers. Telling himself he's not a witch like his mother and grandmother, Rufus keeps his new abilities a secret. They grow stronger and run out of control, taking him on wild adventures.

In NO BOYS ALLOWED! sixth-grader Cassie Landauer declares war on all males because her father has left the family to marry another woman. Her best friend, Bobby, can't understand why Cassie won't talk to him. Then Great Uncle Harry moves into her house, forcing Cassie to reconsider her position.
