Meet Barbara Metzger

Friday, March 19, 2010

Unlike a lot of us, Barbara Metzger didn’t dream of being a romance writer. Back in the 1980’s, Barbara was an artist with paying jobs as a greeting card writer and then, as an editor. One day, she picked up a Georgette Heyer book and fell in love with the light-hearted Regency romance. All too soon she’d devoured every story Georgette had written. And since the author had passed away, not many fun romps in Regency England would be available to entertain Barbara. So she decided to take matters into her own hands and write what she loved. The rest, as they say, is history.

Barbara is now the award-winning author of more than three dozen full length stories, another dozen novellas, plus one contemporary romance. She’s delighted to be making a return appearance to Pindar Vineyard for the Multi-Author Book Signing.

This time around, she’ll be signing copies of her November 2009 release for Signet Eclipse, THE BARGAIN BRIDE:

It was a match not made in heaven, but in pound notes - an arranged engagement between a girl of thirteen and a lord's younger son. Since then, thirteen years have passed, and as her betrothed has been sowing his wild oats, Penny has grown up, grown impatient, and grown resentful. In fact, she's vowed never to marry the man who blighted her life and destroyed her dreams.

Viscount Westfield is happy enough to return the bridal dowry. But one look at Penny and Westfield knows he can never, ever let her go.

Why does Barbara participate in the Vineyard Signing for Literacy? To share the joy of writing and reading, of course! For additional information about Barbara, please visit her website at http://www.barbarametzger.com/
